We just got back from Vogue Knitting Live this afternoon. What a whirlwind! It was a great trip. So much better than last year. Don't get me wrong, last year was great fun, and we did really well, but it was scary as hell. Even though I had tons of people helping me and encouraging me, there was so much I didn’t know. First, off, just the idea of driving in New York was terrifying. Then there was all the confusion about the booth. How to set it up? What's included? What do I need to bring? Knitting the last 10%
It’s like that with knitting too. You can knit all the pieces, but it's not done until the edges are picked up and the ends woven in. While I'm not an in the round devotee, I can see the appeal of finishing the knitting and knowing that it was done. Well, not ALL done because of those borders and pesky ends, but more done than a pile of pieces to seam into a garment.
Even so, you can’t wear it until it’s all the way done.

Gratitude and happiness go hand in hand
I was reading an article on mindfulness today and how mindfulness and gratitude are the building blocks of happiness. The author used the term "savoring." I love that word -- I love the idea of it. I think it kind of sums up the whole mindfulness gratitude concept and ties it all up in a neat little package that summons everything that we like most about Thanksgiving.
