These were taken in the early evening - maybe 4:30. It continued to snow through the night, and we got another couple of inches. I think it was around 5 inches in all. My driveway was an ice patch, and the hill up to our little cul-de-sac was terribly slick . Since we've had at least 4 cars end up in the ditch on either side of this hill when it snows, we opted to stay in. Normally that would have been a no-brainer, but since I had bought tickets to take my mother to see South Pacific at the Kennedy Center, it was really a tough call. Very frustrating. We stayed home and watched Julie and Julie, which my daughter Katie had given me for Christmas. Great film, by the way. I LOVE Meryl Streep so much, and I now have a much deeper appreciation for Julia Child as well. And the cooking, of course, was wonderful. What a great idea, working your way through a book like that, don't you think?
