    I was listening to NPR on the way home from La Plata the other day and I heard a re-broadcast of an interview with Steven Sondheim.  The interviewer was asking about a particular song that she understood to describe the point at which you finish a creative endeavor and come back into the real world.  Sondheim corrected her and said it was really about that place where the artist is so engaged in the creative process that he or she is completely unaware of the passage of time.  The artist sits down to work and the next thing she knows is that eight hours have past.  You and I know that concept as flow. We've all been there, certainly, with an engaging knitting project, or some other intellectually challenging task that we really enjoy.  I've talked about it before thought about
