At our staff meeting Monday Lynne shared with us a few of the projects she's designed for the upcoming knit along: The Twelve Projects of Christmas (or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, or Winter Solstice) Anyway, these are really great. Miss Lynne is so talented! Let's start with my absolute favorite -- take a little sparkle and a fun pattern stitch, put them together in a really great color and, voila!
Can't you just see this filling in the neckline of a lovely dress coat or over a plain sweater to dress it up. So wonderful. If you look closely, you'll see that little pattern stitch in the not sparkly part which makes it lots of fun to knit. This is not a challenging knit, gang, it's really easy.
Next, is Lynne's bunny cowl. Why bunny? Well, it's worked in her favorite yarn, Kochoron, which contains beautiful angora (not scratchy mohair, folks, angora - the soft stuff) and has an incredible feel and a halo of softness about the colors.
A really cool feature of this design is that it creates two totally different and equally beautiful fabrics on either side. The first side shows the brighter colors, while the more muted ones recede.
On the other side, the brighter colors recede displaying the more muted tones, so it's like getting two totally different garments in one!
The last one I'll share with you today is this gorgeous pointsettia Lynne designed
Wouldn't this be spectacular on a special gift, or a wreath, or anywhere, actually. Sandy suggested that you knit several and place them down your holiday table. I would like one pinned to my black coat! Really lovely.
So that's all for today. We'll share some more tomorrow.
