Martha McDonald

Martha is the queen of La Plata.  When people come in and fall in love with the La Plata, it's all Martha's doing.  She has an excellent eye for merchandising and is tirelessly tidy, keeping all the bins stocked and organized.   However, merchandising and display are but a few of Martha's skills.  Martha has an amazing grasp of the yardage, price, fiber content, and probably color number of every single yarn in the shop.  She knows the stock well, and she has an excellent sense of which yarns behave best in which patterns.  Martha also has an excellent eye for color and design, especially in the area of knitting for the home.  Ask her about the Colinette afghan designs she's worked and helped others compile. 

Martha enjoys swatching new yarn and trying out new stitches which she often incorporates into an afghan.  Her sampler in Blue Sky Organic Cotton is wonderful.  She also enjoys the more simple and traditional lace designs such as feather and fan which always make a lovely fabric.

Firmly in the circular needle camp, Martha has a particular passion for Addi Turbos.  Can't argue with that!
