Kathy is the petite young woman with the naturally curly hair.  Don’t let Kathy’s youthful look fool you – she’s been knitting more than 20 years and has created scores of fabulous garments and accessories.  She enjoys knitting in fine gauge yarns like the Alchemy Monarch silk and cashmere she used in this lace trimmed bolero and lace scarf.  She’s a whiz with socks as well as sweaters; she’s comfortable reworking a pattern for a different gauge, and she’s especially fond of redesigning flat knitting to be worked in the round.   While her personal color taste runs toward classic neutrals and clear reds, she can always tell you which colors are hot this season.  She keeps her finger on the fashion pulse by reading Vogue, In-Style, and Lucky magazine. 

Kathy has a degree in Journalism from Northwestern and is a reserve officer with the US Navy.  She's just back after a year-long tour of duty in Iraq.  Here at the shop, Kathy is known as the Queen of knitting in the round.  Come by on Wednesday and Thursday mornings to see what's on her circular needles these days!
