Mock Cable Rib pattern
Rounds
1-3: *knit 2 purl 2* repeat between *s the entire round
Round 4: insert right needle into next two stitches and knit
them together, but leave both stitches on the left needle. Insert
the right needle into the first stitch and knit it. Slip both
stitches off needle.
Pattern
Cast on 40 stitches and divide stitches among the needles. (If you’re new to ribbing on dpns, it’s easier to begin each needle with knit 2, so you’d arrange your 40 stitches as follows: needles 1 and 3: 8 stitches; needles 2 and 4: 12 stitches.) Join into a round, marking beginning of round. Work in Mock Cable Rib pattern until piece measures 5 inches from beginning, ending with row 3 of pattern stitch.
